Q1. When is the group leader asked for the first deposit? A1. Group leaders will be normally be asked for an initial deposit of approximately 10% of the total due within a few days of making the initial booking

Q2. When is the group leader asked for the second deposit? A2. Group leaders will be normally be asked for a second deposit of approximately 20% of the total due to be paid 12 weeks prior to the start of your visit.

Q3. When is the group leader asked to make the final payment? A3. Final payment is normally due 4 weeks prior to the start of your visit.

Q4. How many people sleep in each room? A4. There are 3 fitted bunk beds in each bedroom and plenty of storage space. Normally there are two to three persons sleeping in each room, depending on your needs. If you need a room to yourself please ask and we will try to accommodate your needs.

Q5. How many bathrooms are there? A5. Downstairs there are two main toilet blocks, two private bathrooms and one bathroom for the disabled. Upstairs there are two main toilet blocks and six private bathrooms.

Q6. Is there a plug for my hairdryer? A6. There is a socket in every room.

Q7. Will my mobile telephone work at Red Ridge? A7. Mobile telephones do not work at Red Ridge but do work a few hundred yards up the lane and on some of the off site activities. There is one public telephone in the centre.

Q8. Is there a television?
A8. Normally there is much time for watching television but there is a small television in the small lounge provided for visiting staff.

Q9. What time are meals? A9. Breakfast is normally at 08:15 and Evening meal is normally at 18:00.

Q10. Do guests have access to laundry and drying facilities? A10. There are two commercial washing machines and two tumble dryers available to our visitors. There is also a large and excellent drying room with an industrial dehumidifier.

Q11. What happens if the weather is not so good? A11. In the unlikely event that the weather prevents us participating in any of our normal activities we have our artificial caving area and games room as an indoor back up. Another alternative might be to dress up against the weather and take an adventurous walk in the hills.

Q12. Can you accommodate people in wheelchairs? A12. Two downstairs bedrooms have wheelchair access. There is one downstairs bathroom with wheelchair access. We rent hoists from the Red Cross as needed. Many of our activities have been adapted to accommodate wheelchair users although each case is always individually reviewed.

Q13. Can you accommodate person with epilepsy, diabetes? A13. Yes. We have experience in accommodating a very wide range of illnesses and diseases. It is mostly a matter of communication and letting us know what difficulties you have so that we can ensure that we have everything in place to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

Q14. Do you have a bar at the centre? A14. We do not have a bar at the centre but guests are welcome to bring alcohol with them. A fridge is available to chill drinks. Guests also make use of the Cefn Coch Inn in the village.

Q15. If the Cefn Coch Inn is two miles away how do we have a drink there without driving? A15. Transport to and from the Cefn Coch Inn is normally available at the nominal charge of £1.50 per head each way, with a minimum of 5 persons.

Q16. How do we transport ourselves to off site activities such as Cadair Idris, rock climbing and caving, canadian canoeing, clay pigeon shooting or go-karting? A16. You are able to use your own vehicles, or, if you require transport please ask us for a quotation.

Q17. Can you accommodate those persons with a special diet? A17. We can accommodate most dietary requirements as long as we are given advance warning.

Q18. Do guests have access to the Internet and can they check their emails? A18. There are two computers in the staff lounge with Broadband Internet access. These can be made available to you on request.

Q19. Are your staff trained in first aid? A19. It is Red Ridge policy that all staff, including domestic and care staff should be trained in first aid, CPR and defibrillation.

Q20. Do I need any specialist equipment? A20. All specialist equipment for activities is provided. We advise our guests not to purchase any new or specialist equipment. We do ask you to bring old clothes, old trainers, and a warm, waterproof jacket. We are able to provide wellingtons and waterproof jackets and trousers.

Q21. Do I need to bring a sleeping bag? A21. No. All bedding is supplied for you.
